Travis Kelce Celebrates Taylor Swift Buying Back Her Music Catalog: ‘It’s Finally Hers’

Travis Kelce is celebrating his girlfriend Taylor Swift buying back her music catalog.

In a trailer for the upcoming episode of his New Heights podcast, Travis, 35, is seen dancing along to Swift’s Red era hit “I Knew You Were Trouble” as guest Shaquille O’Neal plays the song on his phone.

As the retired NBA star, 53, played the track, Kelce and his brother and podcast co-host Jason Kelce began to dance. “That’s my favorite song in the world, brother, I love it,” O’Neal said, earning applause from the Kelce brothers.

“Shout out to Tay Tay. Just got that song back, too,” Travis said. “Just bought all her music back so it’s finally hers, man, I appreciate that, dog. Love you, big Diesel.”

Swift, 35, purchased her original masters from Shamrock Capital last week, six years after her catalog was sold to Scooter Braun. The 14-time Grammy winner announced in an Instagram post that she regained control of her first six albums, directing fans to a handwritten letter posted to her website.

“Hi. I’m trying to gather my thoughts into something coherent, but right now my mind is just a slideshow,” Swift wrote. “A flashback sequence of all the times I daydreamed about, wished for, and pined away for a chance to get to tell you this news. All the times I was thiiiiiiiiiiiiis close, reaching out for it, only for it to fall through. I almost stopped thinking it could ever happen, after 20 years of having the carrot dangled then yanked away. But that’s all in the past now.”

Swift now owns all of her original work. In the letter, she confirmed that she has already finished re-recording her 2006 self-titled debut album and has less than a quarter of Reputation re-recorded.

“Those 2 albums can still have their moments to re-emerge when the time is right, if that would be something you guys would be excited about,” Swift wrote. “But if it happens, it won’t be from a place of sadness and longing for what I wish I could have. It will just be a celebration now.”
